WRITE THE LIGHT WORKSHOP
August 19th at 7:30 PM EDT
This writing workshop offers a space for survivors to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with their inner voice—whether you’re a first-time writer or someone who’s been journaling for years. Led by spoken word artist and inspirational speaker Cynthia Giles, the session begins with a live poetry performance designed to spark creativity and open the heart. You will not be asked to write about your trauma. Instead, we’ll use uplifting, imaginative prompts that explore themes like healing, nature, music, resilience, or whatever stirs joy and curiosity in you. You’re welcome to use metaphor, storytelling, or simply let your thoughts flow freely—this is your space to explore. The final 15 minutes offer an optional opportunity to share a short excerpt with the group, though sharing is never required. Whether you’re writing for healing, reflection, or just the love of words, you are welcome here.

FROM STAGE FRIGHT TO STAGE PRESENCE: FINDING YOUR VOCIE AFTER TRAUMA
Date TBD
This empowering workshop will give survivors the tools to transform fear into powerful stage presence. Led by Cynthia Giles—published writer (NBCUniversal, Marietta Daily Journal), nationally featured poet, and speaker who has graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Graceland, and the Fox Theatre—this session blends practical public speaking strategies with deep, heart-centered encouragement. Designed for beginners to intermediate speakers, this workshop is perfect for those wanting to express themselves in personal, artistic, or professional spaces. You’ll learn how to pitch your ideas, tell your story with impact, and walk away with renewed confidence. This is a space to rise—because your voice is powerful, and it deserves to be heard.
Over the years, our events have been filled with hope, inspiration, and incredible breakthroughs. Each gathering has brought our community closer together, raised vital awareness, and sparked meaningful change in the lives of survivors. We’re humbled by the positive impact and look forward to even greater success in the future.
